November 20, 2013 (Chinavestor) The Dow took a breather on Tuesday and fell a mere 9.0 points or 0.1%. Chinese stocks listed in the US followed suit and the China ADR Index fell 1.4 points or 0.2%. But Chinese stocks in Hong Kong opened higher on Wednesday and even though gave back most of the initial gains, the Hang Seng Index (INDEXHANGSENG:.HSI) advanced 43.0 points or 0.2%.
Chinese airliners led the advance. China Southern Airlines (HKG:1055) surged 6.3% followed by Air China (HKG:0753) and China Eastern Airlines (HKG:0670).
But the advance was far from universal, stocks that fell were about the same as those that advanced among components of the 50 member index.
