February 15, 2013 (Chinavestor) BYD Company (HKG:1211) continued Friday where it left off Thursday - surging the most among components of the Hang Seng Index (INDEXHANGSENG:.HSI). Chinese shipping lanes, China Shipping Development (HKG:1138) and CSCL (HKG:2866), advanced over 2 percent outperforming the broad market. The Hang Seng Index (INDEXHANGSENG:.HSI) advanced a mere 31.3 points or 0.1% as profit taking hurt markets.
Chinese stocks were not trading in Shanghai in observance of the Chinese New Year Celebrations. The Shanghai Stock Exchange will be open on Monday, February 18 after a week long shut-down.
