August 20, 2012 (Chinavestor) Stocks were missing direction in Asia on Monday ahead of Greece's Antonis Samaras visit to Germany. Greece is trying to win time in Germany over implementing latest rounds of austerity measures, a risky move considering political circumstances. The Hang Seng Index (INDEXHANGSENG:.HSI) skid 11.8 points or 0.1% while the Shanghai Composite Index (SHA:000001) fell 7.9 points or 0.4%.
More telling is that all but seven components of the 42 member Hang Seng Index (INDEXHANGSENG:.HSI) fell for the day. The decline was universal among mainland Chinese stocks or H-shares.
