May 15, 2012 (Chinavestor) Chinese stocks recovered in Hong Kong but a somber mood kept stocks at bay in Shanghai. The Hang Seng index (INDEXHANGSENG:.HSI) rose 159.3 points or 0.8% as news spread that Europe's largest economy, Germany, avoided recession. But investors failed to get over excited on the mainland where a small quantitative easing for banks on Monday was not enough to change market sentiment. The Shanghai Composite Index (SHA:000001) fell 5.9 points or 0.2% on Tuesday.
