April 9, 2012 (Chinavestor) Weak jobs report in the US and accelerating inflation in China dragged down stocks in Asia on Monday. The Shanghai Composite Index (SHA:000001) fell 20.8 points or 0.9% with most of its components ending the day in the red. Large caps fell the hardest, all but four among the 50 largest stocks in Shanghai advanced for the day.
Investors are going to shift focus to earnings as first quarter earnings are going to come out this week. Alcoa Inc. (NYSE:AA) will report on Tuesday, April 10.
