Chinese airliners have got some momentum lately for both China Southern Airlines (NYSE:ZNH) and China Eastern Airlines (NYSE:CEA) made it to the overbought China stock list. China Fire & Security Group was able to hang on to gains since last Friday, quite an achievement given sour market conditions. General Steel (NYSE:GSI) surged following strong 2011 Q2 numbers and hasn't reached theoretical highs yet, a potentially good sign. Similarly to General Steel (NYSE:GSI), strong earnings propelled China XD Plastics (NASDAQ:CXDC) and Xinyuan Real Estate (NYSE:XIN) higher but both rallies seem to loose steam.
The rally may be over for Giant Interactive (NYSE:GA) as well for the stock advanced too much, too fast, according to the chart below. General Steel (NYSE:GSI) is screaming off the overbougt chart. The company reported sales increase of 100% YoY, sparking a rush. Volume increased 8 times over average on Tuesdayt, another excellent sign of technical srength. More upside is possible albeit downside risk is also on the rise.
Not overbought, China Southern Airlines (NYSE:ZNH) and China Eastern Airlines (NYSE:CEA) are also on the chart below. When price of oil goes low, airliners make more profit. Considering that none of these airliners are overbought, more upside is possible over the medium term.

And just how important earnings are, investors have to take a look at China TechFaith Wireless (NASDAQ:CNTF) or Vanceinfo Technologies (NYSE:VIT).Both stocks fell hard following the release of second quarter earnings on Tuesday. Or, a security is sometimes considered overbought when the stock is trading out of its trading envelope and is approaching the theoretical high. It is important to keep in mind that overbought is not necessarily the same as being bearish. It merely infers that the stock has risen too far too fast and might be due for a pullback.
Oversold A technical condition that occurs when prices are considered too low and ripe for a rally. Oversold conditions can be classified by analyzing the chart pattern or with indicators such as the one above.
