September 17, 2012 (Chinavestor) Basic materials and financials led gains among Chinese ADRs in September so far. Aluminum Corp. of China (NYSE:ACH) surged 14.5% in September so far followed by a slightly more aggressive move by Silvercorp Metals (NYSE:SVM). General Steel (NYSE:GSI) jumped over 60%, but that's due to a low basis.
Financials did well. China Life Insurance (NYSE:LFC) outperformed as well as China Finance Online (NASDAQ:JRJC) and CNinsure (NASDAQ:CISG). Both smaller NASDAQ plays rose over 20% in September! But consumer stocks failed to gain traction. Technology and health care was mixed with a few stocks that drew attention. Sina Corp. (NASDAQ:SINA) rose over 20%, moving tech sector higher but solar plays and Shada Games (NASDAQ:GAME) weighed down the sector.
