advance4 August 9, 2010 (Chinavestor) Chinese ADRs edged higher on Monday as investors waited for the FED and digested disappointing jobs report from last Friday. But ultimately it was earnings that moved stock prices.

The day started with some optimism, especially in Asia. China shares advanced in Shanghai and Hong Kong as well, but took a dive earlier the day. The DJIA edged 45 points higher with H-P dropping 8 percent on its CEO oust.

Looking at larger cap Choina stocks, companies with $500 million market cap or more, Synutra International (NASDAQ:SYUT) tumbled 28 poercent following reports that its products are unsafe. China's population is still extremely sensitive to melamine scandal and unless the company can contain the rumors, it's in deep trouble.

Oversold City Telecom (NASDAQ:CTEL) and China Real Estate Information (NASDAQ:CRIC) advanced the most among larger cap China plays.

China Automotive Systems (NASDAQ:CAAS) fell nine percent following disappointing earnings.

Smaller caps were moved by earnings. American Dairy (NYSE:ADY) and China Fire & Security Group (NASDAQ:CFSG) fell the most, following dismal earnings.
