July 11, 2012 (Chinavestor) Chinese stocks traded water for the second day in a week on Wednesday. The Hang Seng index (INDEXHANGSENG:.HSI) advanced a mere 23.5 points or 0.1% while the Shanghai Composite Index (SHA:000001) rose 10.9 points or 0.5%. Chinese trade surplus rose to $31.73 billion in June, an increase of 42.9% year over year. Earnings season is kicking into higher gear, raising hopes that corporate earnings may lift market sentiment.
