Complete 2009 Q4 China Solar Stock Guide

E-mail Print PDF

shine2 March 12, 2010 (Chinavestor) A long list of Chinese solar makers reported 2009 Q4 numbers by now. China Sunergy (NASDAQ:CSUN) did so in the morning before the bell, giving investors an opportunity to compare them.

A little chronology: JA Solar (NASADAQ:JASO) opened the earnings season for solar stocks on February 10, 2010 and was followed by  Trina Solar (NYSE:TSL). March saw most solar reports coming to light; Canadian Solar (NASDAQ:CSIQ) on March 3 followed by Suntech Power (NYSE:STP) the next day. Solarfun Power Holdings (NASDAQ:SOLF) and Yingli Green Energy (NYSE:YGE) came next followed by ReneSolar Ltd. (NYSE:SOL) and China Sunergy (NASDAQ:CSUN) today. LDK Solar (NYSE:LDK) is scheduled to report on March 30, 2010 before the market open.

Our methodology is simple: we display revenue and earnings growth combined with stock price appreciation for the examined period. Let the charts speak for themselves.

Hint: investors prefer stocks with strong revenue and earnings growth history. Four companies out of the following eight reported revenue and earnings growth from 2009 Q3 to 2009 Q4. These are JA Solar (NASDAQ:JASO), Trina Solar (NYSE:TSL), Canadian Solar (NASDAQ:CSIQ), and Suntech Power (NYSE:STP).
